| Evaluation of the On-Line Peace Corps Writers Workshop #1 Beginning March 8, 2004 for 10 weeks Please respond with one number either 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1. 1. I am satisfied with the workshop leaders teaching skill. 5 1. What did you enjoy about the workshop? Please explain. I liked getting feedback from other participants and from the workshop leader. 2. How could the workshop be improved? Please explain. The Chat Room never seemed to stay on subject. The workshop leader could have done a better job of keeping on task and perhaps had more to discuss. He relied heavily on peoples questions which can be effective but when it wasnt he didnt seem to have much to fall back on. 3. What were the reasons you signed up for this workshop? I had written some things but didnt know if they were any good and didnt know how to improve them. I had trouble finding an in-person writing group that fit my needs. 4. Did this workshop provide information that was valuable to you? Please explain. Yes. I go such great comments from people and the lessons were helpful. 5. How did this workshop compare with other training you have had? I took a fiction writing class once and never got any constructive feedback. I left the class thinking I couldnt write at all and couldnt learn. With this class, I feel like I can learn. 6. Was the workshop a good value? How does it compare with the cost of other workshops you may have investigated? The class was expensive. Most workshops I have seen are closer to the $100 range. I dont think I would pay another $300 for the advanced class. 7. Please write any comments you have about the teacher? His presentation format? His communication skills? See #2 8. Do you have any comments about the weekly written Lessons? Assignments? Writers interviews? How was the timing of these? 9. What are your thoughts about the computer on-line aspect of this workshop? Everything always seemed to run smoothly. I thought it was well maintained. About the effectiveness of the weekly forums and feedback system? About the effectiveness of the weekly evening one-hour chats? The day of the week, the time of day? Please explain. 10. You participated in this workshop with other people. Was their feedback a benefit or not? Please explain. Yes 11. The leader provided feedback on your writing. Was this a benefit or not? Please explain. Yes. Very honest but not harsh. 12. Please write any other general comments you have about the workshop that will be helpful to us. 13.
